Holiday Schedule
General Rule
If your collection day falls on or after an observed holiday during the week, your trash, recycling, and organics pickup will be delayed by exactly one day for the remainder of that week.
Yard Waste Exception
The green organics cart follows the exact same holiday delay schedule as the standard trash and recycling carts.
On all other holidays not listed (e.g., Presidents' Day or Veterans Day), refuse will be collected on your normal scheduled day without interruption.

Keep Plastic Bags Out of the Green Bin
Never use plastic bags or 'compostable' bioplastic bags to hold your food waste. If you need to contain messy food scraps, wrap them in newspaper or place them in a plain paper bag before tossing them into the green organics cart.
Batteries Cause Truck Fires
Household batteries and electronic waste spark dangerous fires when crushed inside collection trucks. Never throw them in any cart. Utilize Inglewood's free Door-to-Door HHW pickup service instead.
Leave Recyclables Loose
Do not bag your clean recyclables in plastic garbage bags. The automated sorting facility cannot process bagged recyclables, and the plastic film will shut down the entire recycling line.

Winter (Post-Holiday)
Late December through JanuaryRepublic Services collects bare Holiday Trees placed on the curb by residents on their regular trash collection days, starting the day after Christmas until the end of January. Tinsel, ornaments, and flocking must be removed.
Spring & Fall
May and OctoberDuring Operation Clean Sweep in May and October, residents can place bulky items at the curb on specified Saturdays without calling ahead to schedule. (Check the city website for your neighborhood's exact weekend).
