General Rule
When an observed holiday falls on a weekday, all collections for the remainder of that week will be delayed by exactly one day.
Yard Waste Exception
Organics and recycling services are subject to the same holiday delay schedules as standard refuse collection.
If a designated holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, there are no service interruptions, and pickups proceed on their normal schedule.

Skip the Plastic Bags in Recycling
Never bag your recyclables. Plastic bags jam up the specialized sorting machinery at the local recycling facility. Place your clean cardboard, glass, and metal items loosely directly into the gray cart.
Keep Polystyrene Foam Out
Styrofoam cups, takeout containers, and packaging peanuts are not accepted in Moreno Valley's curbside recycling program. These items must go into the burgundy trash cart.
No Rocks or Soil in the Green Cart
While yard trimmings belong in the green bin, heavy landscaping debris like soil, rocks, and concrete will damage collection trucks and contaminate the compost. Take these heavy materials to a local construction and demolition recycler.
