Holiday Schedule
General Rule
If a designated holiday falls on a weekday, all collection services are postponed by one day for the remainder of that week (e.g., Thursday collections move to Friday).
Yard Waste Exception
Organics and recycling carts follow the exact same holiday delay schedule as standard black cart trash collection.
If an observed holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, there are absolutely no delays to the regular Monday-Friday residential collection schedules.
Observed Holidays
!Contamination Tips
Keep Palm Fronds Out of the Green Cart
Palm fronds are extremely fibrous and cannot break down in CR&R's anaerobic digester. They will tangle in the facility's sorting gears, so always throw palm fronds and yucca leaves into your black landfill cart.
Skip the Plastic Bags for Organics
Because Wildomar’s food waste is digested for renewable energy, plastic bags of any kind (even those heavily marketed as "compostable" or "biodegradable") can ruin the equipment. Keep your food scraps loose.
Never Bag Your Recyclables
Plastic garbage bags jam the mechanical sorting screens at the recycling recovery center. Always dump your cardboard, cans, and bottles completely loose into your grey recycling cart.
Seasonal Information
Winter (Post-Holiday)
December - JanuaryCR&R will collect unflocked, bare Christmas trees placed at the curb for the first two weeks following Christmas. Trees taller than 6 feet must be cut in half before placement.
Year-Round
OngoingFor seasonal deep-cleaning projects, Wildomar residents can rent larger temporary roll-off dumpsters directly through CR&R for construction debris or extreme yard overgrowth.
About Wildomar Waste Management
Exclusive Franchise with CR&R Environmental Services
Following a consolidated franchise agreement approved in late 2022, CR&R Environmental Services is now the exclusive solid waste and recycling hauler for the entire City of Wildomar. Previously, the city was split at the I-15 freeway between two different haulers. This unified agreement ensures that all residents now receive consistent weekly trash, recycling, and organics services under a single municipal framework.
Transforming Food Scraps into Renewable Energy
Wildomar's SB 1383 organics recycling program is highly advanced. Instead of simply being composted, the food scraps and green waste you place into your green cart are transported locally to CR&R's state-of-the-art Anaerobic Digester (AD) Facility in Perris, California. This facility extracts the methane from the organic breakdown process and converts it into renewable natural gas, which is then used to fuel the very CR&R collection trucks that drive through Wildomar neighborhoods.
Generous Bulky Item Allowances
Wildomar residents benefit from one of the more generous bulky waste disposal programs in Riverside County. Every residential household is entitled to three separate bulky item pickups per calendar year. Because you can set out up to four items per scheduled appointment, residents have the ability to safely dispose of up to 12 large items—like furniture, mattresses, and e-waste—annually without paying extra disposal fees.
Strict Cart Placement Ordinances
To keep neighborhoods looking clean and to ensure automated collection trucks can operate safely, CR&R and the city require precise cart placement. Carts must be at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on your collection day, spaced at least three feet apart from each other, vehicles, and mailboxes. Carts must have their handles and wheels facing the home, and all containers must be removed from the public right-of-way within 12 hours after service is completed.
