The capacity is 7-9 standard size kitchen garbage bags. To avoid attraction and infestation of bugs and rodents, please bag and seal your household garbage before placing it in the cart. The lid must close completely.

The first 2 standard bulk items are free. Special pickups for large appliances (which require Freon recovery), claw truck services for excessive piles, or temporary dumpsters require an estimate and an extra fee billed to your utility account.

General Rule
If the holiday falls on a weekday, collections for that day and the remainder of the week are shifted one day later (e.g., Thursday collections move to Friday, Friday to Saturday).
Yard Waste Exception
Yard waste and bulk pickups follow the exact same holiday shift as garbage and recycling, since all services occur on the same day.
Holidays like Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Veteran's Day have NO changes to regular collections. Put your carts out as usual.

June - NovemberWhen a tropical storm or hurricane threatens Pinellas County, refrain from doing last-minute yard work. Never place roll-carts, fencing, or piles of branches at the curb during high wind warnings, as they become dangerous projectiles.
Post-Holiday Cleanup
December - JanuaryDuring the holidays, wrapping paper and styrofoam must go in the green garbage cart. For large post-holiday cardboard boxes, ensure they are completely broken down, flattened, and unsoiled before placing them in the blue recycling cart.

March - MayDuring heavy landscaping seasons, remember that contractor-generated yard debris is not collected by the city. If you hire a tree surgeon or professional landscaper, they are required by city ordinance to remove and dispose of the brush themselves.

Your trash will be collected normally! The Dunedin Solid Waste Division only changes schedules for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. For all other holidays, including Memorial Day and Labor Day, collections happen as usual.
