To streamline this, Ormond Beach schedules all residential yard waste collection for Wednesdays, regardless of which side of Nova Road you live on. Small debris like grass clippings, leaves, and pine needles must be placed in bags, hand piles, or standard 32-gallon cans. For larger limbs and brush, the city automatically schedules a specialized claw truck; however, residents should be aware that it may take up to a full week for the claw truck to arrive.
Strict Rules for Contractor-Generated Debris
If you hire a professional landscaper or tree service, do not expect the city's hauler to pick up the mess. Per City Ordinance Section 10-65, any yard waste or land clearing debris generated by a commercial contractor must be removed by that contractor at their own expense. If the city's hauler is forced to remove commercial debris at a resident's request, a substantial removal fee will be directly added to your utility bill.
