Green Cart Bin (Trash)
Trash is collected twice a week (typically Mondays and Thursdays). All garbage and yard clippings must be bagged before being placed in the green cart. Cart lids must be completely closed. Place within 3 feet of the street and 5 feet from obstacles.

Blue Cart Bin (Recycling)
Recycling is collected every other week on Mondays. Materials must be placed loosely in the blue cart. Never bag your recyclables. Do not overfill the cart or stack items on top.

Placement
Place items within 10 feet of the street and at least 5 feet from mailboxes, parked cars, or trees. Maintain a 15-foot overhead clearance from tree branches and power lines.

Bulk pickup is included in your annual non-ad valorem waste fee. However, exceeding your 25-cubic-yard limit or placing items out outside the 24-hour Sunny Isles Beach window can result in code enforcement fines or required private hauler fees.
Holiday Schedule
General Rule
Waste collection is provided on all holidays except the three listed above. If your regular collection day falls on one of these three observed holidays, there is no makeup day; your garbage will be collected on your next regularly scheduled pickup day.
Yard Waste Exception
Bulk waste appointments will not be scheduled on observed county holidays. Bagged yard waste in the green cart follows the standard holiday skip rule.
Unlike many municipalities that push collection back by one day, Miami-Dade simply skips the holiday and resumes on the next normal collection day (e.g., if a Monday is skipped, your next pickup is Thursday).

December - AprilDuring peak residential months, waste volumes increase. Ensure your green cart lid is completely closed at all times to prevent coastal winds from blowing trash into the intercoastal waterways and to keep seagulls and wildlife out.
Holidays
Year-RoundMiami-Dade County collects waste rain or shine on almost all holidays. Your service will only be suspended on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Independence Day, and Christmas Day. On those three days, service simply resumes on your next scheduled pickup day.
