Holiday Schedule
General Rule
Republic Services operates normally on all holidays except Christmas Day.
Yard Waste Exception
Bulk and large yard waste collections that coincide with Christmas Day will be suspended and collected on the next scheduled service day.
If your collection day falls on Christmas Day, all services will simply roll over and be collected on your next regular scheduled service day.

Late December to JanuaryRemember that Republic Services does not collect on Christmas Day. Break down all cardboard shipping boxes so they fit flat inside your cart, or combine them with your weekly bulk pickup.

March to MayWhile pruning during the spring growth surge, remember that any branches larger than six feet must wait for your weekly bulk day. Small clippings must fit inside your cart with the lid completely closed.

Does the City of Sunrise collect trash on holidays?
The only holiday that disrupts residential collection in Sunrise is Christmas Day [3.2.6]. On all other federal and state holidays, Republic Services runs its standard routes. If your day falls on Christmas, your waste will be collected on the next regular service day.
How often is bulk trash picked up in Sunrise?
Unlike many cities, Sunrise provides weekly bulk trash collection. Bulky items like furniture, appliances, and oversized yard waste are picked up automatically on the first day of your neighborhood's two-day garbage schedule each week.
Can I put yard waste in my garbage cart?
