Green Lid Cart Bin (Trash)
All trash must be placed securely inside the cart with the lid closed. Trash left outside the cart will not be collected by the automated trucks. Bagging your trash is highly recommended to prevent odors and pests.

All yard waste must be placed unbagged inside the 96-gallon brown-lidded cart. Bagged yard waste is strictly rejected by the county landfill. Do not leave small piles on the ground.

Placement
Once your appointment is confirmed, place items at the curb no more than 24 hours in advance. Do not place items under low-hanging trees, power lines, or near water meters and fire hydrants.

Holiday Schedule
General Rule
If your scheduled collection day falls on an observed holiday, your trash and carted yard waste will not be collected until your NEXT regularly scheduled collection day. However, your recycling will be serviced on the NEXT business day.
Yard Waste Exception
Carted yard waste (in the brown-lidded bin) follows the exact same holiday skip schedule as standard household trash.
Waste Management operates on all other minor holidays. If the holiday is not on the observed list above, place your carts out by 6:00 a.m. as usual.

June to NovemberWhen a severe storm approaches, immediately secure all three carts in your garage. Do not place yard debris or bulk trash on the curb right before a hurricane. After a storm, the city will dispatch specialized storm debris contractors; do not mix your yard debris with construction fencing or shingles.
Winter Holidays
December to JanuaryDuring the holidays, remember that bubble wrap, ribbons, and holiday string lights are strictly prohibited from the yellow recycling cart. Flatten all shipping boxes so they fit entirely inside the yellow cart with the lid shut.
Spring Cleaning
March to MayIf you are undertaking major spring cleaning or a landscaping overhaul, do not overload your regular carts. Call Waste Management at 321-723-4455 to schedule a bulk pickup or a special clam truck service for massive brush piles.
