!Contamination Tips
Don't Hide Hazardous Waste in DIY Debris
While Bolingbrook allows a generous 1 cubic yard of construction debris weekly, items like wet paint, solvents, pesticides, and household batteries are strictly banned and will result in a rejected pickup.
Proper Carpet Preparation
If you are substituting rolled carpet for your weekly bulk item, it must be properly prepared. Cut the carpet into sections no longer than 4 feet and roll it to a maximum of 18 inches in diameter. Secure it with strong tape or twine.
Electronics Require Special Handling
Televisions, computers, and monitors cannot simply be placed in your unlimited weekly garbage bags. Electronic waste is banned from Illinois landfills and requires you to schedule a special pickup with Flood Brothers (fees may apply) or drop it at a local recycling center.

About Bolingbrook Waste Management
Unlimited Bag Allowance vs Cart Rentals
Bolingbrook provides exceptional flexibility for waste disposal. Instead of forcing everyone into a mandatory cart program, Flood Brothers allows residents to place an unlimited number of standard 32-gallon trash bags at the curb each week. For those who prefer the convenience of wheeled bins, 95-gallon or 35-gallon refuse carts are available to rent for a nominal annual fee directly through Flood Brothers.
DIY Construction Debris and Carpet Allowances
Uniquely generous for Bolingbrook homeowners tackling renovations, you can place up to one cubic yard of 'Do It Yourself' construction debris at the curb weekly. Debris must be bagged or placed in 32-gallon containers under 50 pounds. Alternatively, up to four neatly tied rolls of carpet (under 4 feet and 50 lbs each) can be substituted for your weekly free bulk item.
Free Weekly White Goods Pickup
Many municipalities charge hefty fees for appliance disposal, but Bolingbrook's contract with Flood Brothers allows residents to throw out one 'white good' (such as a refrigerator, washer, or water heater) per week completely free of charge. You simply need to call Flood Brothers 24 hours in advance to ensure the proper truck is dispatched and any Freon is handled safely.
Strict Cart Placement Timings
Village ordinance strictly regulates when refuse and recycling bins can hit the curb based on the season to keep neighborhoods tidy. From May to October, bins cannot go out before 6:00 PM the night prior. During the darker winter months from November to April, the allowed time moves up to 3:00 PM. All carts must be stored indoors or out of public view on non-collection days.
