Yard Waste Bin

After exhausting your 3 free Large Item Collections, a $15 fee applies per additional item. A second Minor Cleanup costs $100, and a Major Cleanup costs $300. All fees must be paid prior to pickup.
Holiday Schedule
General Rule
If a recognized holiday falls on a weekday, solid waste pickup will be delayed by one day for the remainder of that week only.
Yard Waste Exception
During the active yard waste season, collections follow the exact same holiday delay schedule as standard solid waste.
If a holiday falls on a weekend, collection schedules during the week are generally not affected, but residents should check the city website for official observation dates.

Keep the Toter Lids Completely Closed
Overfilling your garbage toter so the lid cannot close is a direct violation of Danville's Chapter 52 ordinance and will lead to a municipal warning or fine. Ensure all waste is compressed and securely bagged so the lid shuts flat.
Bag Your Trash, Not Your Yard Waste
All household food and refuse must be placed in plastic garbage bags before going into the trash toter to prevent pests and odors. Conversely, yard waste must NEVER be put in plastic bags—use biodegradable paper bags (when allowed) or your stickered yard waste toter.
No Construction Debris in Minor Cleanups
While scheduling a free Minor Cleanup Collection is an excellent way to dispose of extra household junk, you must never include drywall, roofing shingles, concrete, or lumber, as construction materials are strictly banned from municipal collection.
