Yard Waste Bin
Yard waste is collected from April through November on your regular trash day. Use biodegradable paper bags with a $1.50 sticker, or bundle brush with a $1.75 brush tie using jute twine (no wire). Alternatively, residents can subscribe to an annual yard waste cart for a monthly fee.

Holiday Schedule
General Rule
If an observed holiday falls on or before your scheduled collection day, your garbage and recycling pickup will be delayed by one day for the remainder of that week. Friday collections will move to Saturday.
Yard Waste Exception
Because yard waste is only collected from April through November, winter holidays like Christmas and New Year's have no impact on landscape waste routes.
If a holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the collection schedule for the work week is generally unaffected.

Use Only Natural Twine for Brush
When bundling tree branches for curbside pickup, never use wire, nylon rope, or plastic ties. Republic Services requires that all bundles be tied securely with biodegradable jute twine or uncoated string so the entire bundle can be processed safely.
Keep Electronics Out of All Totes
It is illegal in Illinois to dispose of electronic waste (like computers, monitors, keyboards, and televisions) in a landfill. Do not hide these in your trash or recycling tote; instead, take advantage of the free drop-off at the Electronic Demanufacturing Facility in Davenport.
Do Not Bag Your Recyclables
If you participate in East Moline's recycling program, place your rinsed cans, bottles, and paper loosely into the cart. Plastic trash bags jam the gears of the automated sorting machines at the recycling center.
