If an observed holiday falls on a weekday, all scheduled collections on or after that day will slide to one day later in the week, pushing Friday collections to Saturday.
Yard Waste Exception
Since organics and yard trim are only collected on Mondays, a Monday holiday means organics collection slides to Tuesday.
County haulers strictly adhere to the 'slide schedule' rule; always check the Prince George's DoE holiday calendar for exact adjustments.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to schedule an appointment for bulk trash in Kettering?
For standard household furniture like sofas and mattresses, no appointment is needed. You can place up to 4 items out on your regular trash day. However, appliances (white goods), scrap metal, tires, and electronics still require you to schedule a pickup through PGC311.
What time do I need to put my bins out?
Generally, bins should be placed at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on your collection day. However, during the summer months (late June through September), the county shifts to a 5:00 a.m. start time. It is highly recommended to set your carts out the night before.
Will the county replace my lost or stolen trash cart?
No, Prince George's County does not replace lost, stolen, or dirty carts. If yours goes missing, you must purchase a replacement container from a local retail store and clearly mark it with the word 'TRASH'.
How do I get rid of old appliances or a refrigerator?
White goods and large appliances are not part of the standard 4-item weekly bulk pickup. You must contact PGC311 (online or by phone) to schedule a specific appliance pickup. Ensure all refrigerator doors are completely removed before placing it at the curb.
