Holiday Schedule
General Rule
If an observed holiday falls on a weekday, regular collection will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week, with Saturday serving as a catch-up day.
Yard Waste Exception
Yard waste collection follows the exact same holiday delay schedule as regular trash and recycling during the active season.
Weekend collection is typically not permitted in Pittsfield Township unless authorized for holiday catch-up routes.

How do I dispose of a refrigerator or AC unit in Pittsfield Township?
Unlike many municipalities, Pittsfield Township allows residents to dispose of appliances containing Freon (CFCs) at no extra charge. You must simply contact Stevens Disposal at (734) 279-2611 by 2:00 PM the day before your regular pickup to schedule the collection.
Can I use any trash can for yard waste?
No. For safety reasons, Stevens Disposal requires all yard waste to be placed either in brown paper compost bags or in a specifically designated yard waste bin purchased directly from them. Personal plastic cans get too heavy when wet and will not be collected.

If you are away for four consecutive weeks or more, you can pause your service costs. You must fill out the Rubbish Vacation Hold form on the Township website. Your quarterly billing will continue, but you will receive a credit for the weeks you were away once you return.
