Holiday Schedule
General Rule
If an observed holiday falls on a weekday, regular collection will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week, with Saturday serving as a catch-up day.
Yard Waste Exception
Yard waste collection follows the exact same holiday delay schedule as regular trash and recycling during the active season.
Weekend collection is typically not permitted in Pittsfield Township unless authorized for holiday catch-up routes.

Ditch the Heavy Plastic Bins for Yard Waste
Do not use standard store-bought plastic bins for yard waste. Stevens Disposal only accepts brown paper bags or specialized mechanical-lift bins purchased directly through them to prevent worker injuries.
Keep Heavy Materials Out of Carts
Never place dirt, gravel, stones, broken concrete, or heavy construction debris into your standard 96-gallon trash cart. These materials will damage the automated lifting mechanisms on the trucks.

Residents are permitted to discard up to two large household items every single week on their regular collection day. Amazingly, this even includes major appliances containing CFCs or Freon, such as refrigerators and air conditioners, which Stevens Disposal will collect and process at absolutely no additional charge. You simply must call to schedule the pickup by 2:00 PM the day prior.
Yard Waste Container Regulations
During the active yard waste season from April to December, Pittsfield has strict rules on container types to protect collection workers. How do I dispose of a refrigerator or AC unit in Pittsfield Township?
