General Rule
There are no garbage or recycling collections on major observed holidays. Residents should hold their waste or refer to the Giordano Company Inc. alerts for shifted schedules.
Yard Waste Exception
Vegetative and leaf collections are also paused on all major holidays, with the addition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and President's Day.
During severe inclement weather, collection alerts and route changes will be posted on the Township website and via the Recycle Coach app.

Keep Plastic Film Out of the Bin
Plastic grocery bags, cellophane, and plastic wrap are banned from Millburn's single-stream curbside collection. They tangle the processing machinery. Instead, return clean plastic bags to local grocery stores participating in film recycling programs.
Drop Off Styrofoam at the Town Yard
Polystyrene, commonly known as Styrofoam, cannot go in your curbside recycling bin. However, you do not need to throw it in the trash. Clean, white Styrofoam (excluding packing peanuts) can be recycled in a designated container at the Public Works Yard.
Rinse to Avoid Rejection
If a plastic container or glass jar still contains food scraps, do not recycle it until it is washed. Materials containing food residue will be turned away by the regional recycling facility in Newark.

Strict Single-Stream Recycling Rules
