Using the Wappinger Recycle Center

To use the facility, residents must first purchase an annual license from the Town Clerk at Wappinger Town Hall. You must bring your vehicle registration when applying. The Village of Wappingers Falls Garbage District
If your home is located within the incorporated boundaries of the Village of Wappingers Falls, you are part of a specific Residential Garbage District. The Village contracts directly with Royal Carting to provide curbside service. Garbage pickups occur exclusively on Wednesdays, and residents must ensure their bins weigh no more than 40 pounds when full. Carts should be placed curbside after 4:00 PM on Tuesday and retrieved by 9:00 AM on Thursday.
Free Wood Chips and Mulch Program
In an effort to keep organic waste out of Dutchess County landfills, the Wappinger Highway Department operates a brush recycling program. When residents bring branches and brush to the Recycle Center, the town processes it into wood chips and mulch. This material is heavily utilized for town beautification projects, but it is also available completely free of charge to any resident holding a valid Recycle Center license.
