Holiday Schedule
General Rule
Standard curbside collection is suspended on city-observed holidays. If your normal pickup falls on the holiday, service will generally resume on the following business day, pushing the rest of the week's schedule back by one day.
Yard Waste Exception
Monthly brush and bulk zones may experience slight delays if a major holiday falls during your scheduled week. Leave items at the curb until the crews catch up.

Keep Piles Distinctly Separated
When putting out heavy waste for your monthly zone pickup, make sure your brush pile is completely separate from your bulky furniture or appliances. Mixed piles create hazards at the landfill and undermine the city's recycling initiatives.
Clear the Six-Foot Radius
Never place your brush or bulk piles near utility infrastructure. Alamo Public Works requires a strict six-foot clearance from gas meters, water meters, telephone boxes, parked cars, and overhead wires.
Keep Construction Material Out
Heavy remodeling debris is explicitly banned from brush and bulk pickup. Do not hide sheetrock, painted lumber, bricks, corrugated metal, or concrete in your brush piles.
