Bulk service is included in your standard utility rate. While tied brush is unlimited, bulky waste is strictly capped at two cubic yards (roughly the size of two washing machines) per pickup.

General Rule
If an observed holiday falls on a weekday, trash and recycling collection will be delayed by one day for the remainder of that week.
Yard Waste Exception
Bulk and bundled brush pickups scheduled for a holiday week will also shift forward by one day, potentially occurring on Saturday to ensure service continuity.
Community Waste Disposal (CWD) only alters schedules for these three major holidays. Normal service continues uninterrupted on holidays like Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.

Keep Plastic Bags Out of the Recycling
Plastic grocery bags and typical garbage bags are severe contaminants. Never bag your recyclables in Celina—toss your glass, approved plastics, and cardboard loosely into the recycling cart so they can be processed by CWD.
Say No to Shredded Paper
While intact pieces of mixed paper and newspaper are easily recycled, shredded paper is too small for CWD's sorting facilities. It slips through the sorting screens and ruins other materials, so always throw shredded documents in your regular trash cart.
No Yard Waste in the Recycling Cart
Bagged leaves, grass clippings, and branches must never be placed inside your recycling bin. Vegetative waste compromises clean recyclables and should be handled exclusively via the designated bi-weekly brush collection.

Partnering with Community Waste Disposal (CWD)
The City of Celina contracts with Community Waste Disposal (CWD) to manage all residential solid waste and recycling collection. Residents receive automated cart collection once a week. Because the trucks use mechanical arms to lift the carts, strict placement rules are enforced: carts must be at least three feet apart from each other and positioned three feet away from mailboxes, fences, gas meters, and parked cars, with the wheels facing your home.
Navigating the Bi-Weekly Bulk & Brush System
Instead of a messy open-ended bulk system, Celina organizes heavy trash collection via a specific alternating schedule. Neighborhoods are divided into 'Blue Week' and 'Green Week' zones. Blue zones receive bulk service during the second and fourth weeks of the month, while Green zones are serviced on the first and third weeks. Residents can set out up to two cubic yards of bulky items alongside an unlimited amount of properly bundled brush.
Strict Rules for Yard Waste and Brush
In Celina, yard waste requires a bit of preparation before it hits the curb. Loose brush is strictly prohibited and will be left behind by CWD crews. To ensure your yard debris is collected during your bulk week, it must be securely tied and bundled. Each bundle is restricted to a maximum size of four feet by two feet and cannot weigh more than 50 pounds. Bagged leaves and grass clippings cannot be placed in the recycling cart.
