!Contamination Tips

Keep Bags Out of the Blue Bin

Plastic bags can jam sorting machinery at the recycling facility. Never bag your recyclables in Mansfield; instead, place them loose inside your designated blue cart.

Rinse and Dry Your Containers

Food residue contaminates entire loads of perfectly good recyclables. Take a moment to thoroughly empty, rinse, and dry your glass bottles and aluminum cans before tossing them in.

Divert Renovation Debris

Items like sheetrock, old tiles, and concrete chunks are not accepted in standard curbside bins. Prevent truck damage and contamination by taking DIY project waste directly to the Environmental Collection Center.

Seasonal Information

Spring

March - May

Prepare for 'Chunk Your Junk Day' held at the ECC. This bi-annual spring event allows Mansfield residents to safely dispose of oversized household items and securely shred sensitive documents at no additional cost.

Summer

June - August

During the hot Texas summer, properly sealing your household garbage in heavy-duty plastic bags prevents pest infestations and controls odors before the trucks arrive for your twice-weekly pickup.

Fall

September - November

Heavy autumn pruning generates extra yard waste. Ensure your twigs and branches are bundled tightly, measuring under 4 feet and weighing less than 50 pounds, for seamless curbside removal without extra fees.

About Mansfield Waste Management

Managing Your Household Refuse in Mansfield

In Mansfield, Texas, maintaining a clean neighborhood starts with proper curbside management. Residents are responsible for providing their own waste containers, which can include standard garbage cans or durable plastic bags. Make sure that no single bag or cart exceeds the 35-pound weight limit to ensure a smooth pickup process. Remember that the blue carts supplied by the city are strictly designated for recycling materials only.

Collection Frequency and Limits

Frontier Waste Solutions handles the municipal solid waste collection, offering a convenient twice-a-week schedule for all Mansfield households. To keep operations efficient, the city enforces a strict limit: each household is allowed up to 10 plastic bags or four fully loaded trash cans per collection day. Setting your items out by 7:00 a.m. guarantees you won't miss the truck when it routes through your neighborhood.

Navigating Bulky Waste and Brush Pickups

If you're doing major spring cleaning or yard work, standard garbage parameters might not be enough. Bulky items like furniture or certain appliances are accepted on your regular trash days. However, if your piled brush or large debris exceeds one cubic yard, you must contact Frontier Waste Solutions directly to request a specialized bulky brush collection. Note that this extended service does incur a fee with a minimum one-hour charge.

Using the Environmental Collection Center (ECC)

Mansfield provides an excellent resource for disposing of hard-to-handle items at the ECC on Wisteria Street. This facility is the designated drop-off zone for household hazardous waste, electronics, and even select home renovation materials like old cabinetry or sheetrock. Due to TCEQ regulations, only residential waste is permitted, so bring your driver's license or water bill to prove your local residency.
