Holiday Schedule
General Rule
If the holiday falls on your service day, garbage will be collected the next day. All other federal holidays (like Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day) do not interrupt normal trash service.
Yard Waste Exception
The free semi-annual brush week always falls exactly on the first full week of April and October, regardless of minor holidays.
If your collection day is delayed by a holiday, ensure your containers are still placed out by 7:00 a.m. on the adjusted makeup day.

Rinse and Remove Lids from Glass
While Saginaw accepts glass in the recycling bin, you must thoroughly rinse the bottles and completely remove the plastic or metal lids before tossing them in to ensure clean material processing.
Pizza Boxes Are Trash
Do not place greasy pizza boxes in your recycling bin. The food grease and cheese residue ruin the cardboard recycling process, making them strictly a trash item.
No Loose Brush on Normal Weeks
During regular collection, do not leave loose brush on the curb. Waste Connections will only pick up brush during the normal weekly schedule if it is securely bundled, under 4 feet long, and under 50 pounds.

Semi-Annual Free Unbundled Brush Weeks
While small brush bundles are accepted during normal weekly service, Saginaw provides two massive free bulk and brush collection weeks per year—scheduled during the first full week of April and October. During these highly anticipated periods, tree limbs and heavy brush do not need to be bundled.
