Holiday Schedule
General Rule
Murrey's Disposal observes only Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. If your collection day falls on or after a weekday holiday, service is delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.
Yard Waste Exception
Yard waste and recycling collections follow the exact same holiday delay schedule as the standard garbage routes.
For all other holidays, including Memorial Day, the 4th of July, and Labor Day, your trash will be collected on its normal schedule.
Observed Holidays
Seasonal Information
Winter
December to FebruaryBonney Lake's plateau elevation can result in tricky snow and ice conditions. During severe winter weather, Murrey's Disposal may suspend routes for safety. Leave your carts at the curb; missed material is typically collected on your next serviceable day.
Fall
October to NovemberAutumn brings heavy leaf drops. If you exceed your yard waste cart's capacity, you can place extra leaves in heavy-duty kraft paper yard bags next to your bin (a small extra fee applies). Ensure branches are cut down so they do not jam the cart.
Spring
March to MaySpring cleaning is a great time to declutter. If you are hauling items yourself, remember that the Prairie Ridge Transfer Station limits loads to 2,000 pounds. Larger construction or cleanout loads must go to the Hidden Valley Transfer Station in Puyallup.

Giving Your Unwanted Stuff a Second Life in Bonney Lake
Got gently used items that are too good to toss? Before you put them on the curb, think about donating! Goodwills and Salvation Army stores are always great options, and there are likely local thrift shops in the Bonney Lake area or nearby communities that would love to take your contributions. For larger items like furniture or building materials, check out Habitat for Humanity ReStores. They often accept donations that help fund their projects and give your items a new purpose.
