Placement
You must call CR&R at (951) 943-1991 to schedule your bulk pickup in advance. Place items at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on the scheduled morning.

Holiday Schedule
General Rule
If an observed holiday falls on a weekday (Monday through Friday), your collection service will be postponed by one day for the remainder of that week.
Yard Waste Exception
The holiday delay applies to all carts, including your green organics container.
If the holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, trash will be collected on your normal scheduled day with no delays to your pickup.

Keep Plastic Out of the Green Cart
Never place plastic grocery bags or even so-called 'compostable' plastics into your green organics cart. Only unwaxed paper bags or loose organics are permitted to ensure proper composting.
Pet Waste is Landfill Trash
While it is organic matter, pet waste and cat litter carry harmful bacteria that cannot be processed in regional composting facilities. All pet waste must be securely bagged and placed in the black trash cart.
Do Not Bag Blue Cart Recyclables
Plastic trash bags clog the automated sorting screens at the local recycling facility. You must dump your paper, glass, plastic, and metal loosely directly into the blue container.
Seasonal Information
Winter
Late December to early JanuaryCR&R collects natural Christmas trees for two weeks following December 26th. Trees taller than six feet must be cut in half. Remove all stands, lights, and ornaments. Flocked trees cannot be composted and must be broken down and placed in the black landfill cart.
Year-Round
VariableDuring periods of severe inclement weather (heavy rain or high winds), standard street sweeping operations in San Jacinto may be suspended. Call CR&R's customer service line on rainy days to verify if your street will still be swept.

Residential solid waste collection in San Jacinto is exclusively managed by CR&R Environmental Services. To ensure automated collection trucks can efficiently service your neighborhood, households are provided a three-cart system. Carts must be placed at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on your designated collection morning, spaced at least one foot apart from each other and three feet away from vehicles, mailboxes, and fire hydrants. Meeting State Organics Mandates
San Jacinto enforces mandatory organics recycling to align with California's SB 1383 climate regulations. Residents must place all food scraps, including meat, dairy, coffee grounds, and food-soiled paper, directly into the green organics cart along with traditional yard trimmings. These collected organic materials are diverted from the landfill and converted into renewable natural gas, which powers CR&R’s local collection fleet, as well as nutrient-rich compost.
Generous Bulky Item Collection Allowance
If you are upgrading your home or clearing out the garage, San Jacinto residents benefit from a highly generous bulky item program. Each residential customer is entitled to schedule up to four (4) free curbside bulky item pickups per calendar year. You are allowed up to four (4) large items per appointment, meaning you can dispose of up to 16 oversized items annually at no extra cost. Simply call CR&R or use their online scheduling service in advance.
Special Handling for E-Waste and Hazardous Materials
Electronic waste, such as old televisions and computer monitors, contains toxic heavy metals and cannot be dumped in local landfills. However, CR&R offers curbside e-waste and large appliance (like refrigerators containing Freon) pickups if scheduled properly. Conversely, hazardous items like wet paint, motor oil, and lithium batteries must never be placed in any curbside cart. These must be taken to a Riverside County Household Hazardous Waste collection event.
