Blue Bin (Recycling)
All recyclables must be placed loosely into the blue cart. Do not bag recyclables. Break down cardboard to ensure it fits completely inside.

Yard Waste Bin

Holiday Schedule
General Rule
When an observed holiday falls on a weekday, all Burrtec residential collection services will be delayed by one day for the remainder of that week.
Yard Waste Exception
Organics and recycling follow the exact same holiday delay schedule as standard trash collection.
If a holiday falls on a weekend (Saturday or Sunday), there will be no disruption or delay to your regular weekday collection schedule.

Ditch the Plastic Bags
Plastic bags jam the machinery at the Victorville recycling sorting facility. Never put your recyclables in plastic bags; toss them directly into the blue cart.
Compostable Plastics Are Not Accepted
Even if a utensil, cup, or bag says 'compostable' or 'biodegradable,' it cannot go into Victorville's green organics cart. These items must go into the black trash cart.
Styrofoam is Always Trash
Polystyrene foam packaging, takeout containers, and packing peanuts cannot be recycled locally. Always place these items securely in your black trash container.

December - JanuaryBurrtec provides free curbside Christmas tree recycling from December 26th through January 7th. Trees must be placed at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on your normal collection day, be completely stripped of ornaments and tinsel, and cut in half if they exceed 6 feet.
Spring/Summer
March & JulyThe city hosts major Free Dump Days in March and July at 16925 Forrest Ave. This is the perfect time to clear out heavy yard debris, old mattresses, and broken furniture without using up your allotted annual bulky item pickups.

Every household with active curbside service is entitled to two free bulk pickups per year, allowing up to five large items per trip. Taking Advantage of Victorville's Free Dump Days
To combat illegal dumping in the desert landscape, the City of Victorville’s Environmental Programs Division hosts three Free Dump Days annually—typically in March, July, and November. These highly popular events are held at the former U-Prep campus on Forrest Avenue, giving residents an excellent opportunity to offload extra trash, broken appliances, and heavy yard debris entirely free of charge.

Items like old paint, motor oil, and pesticides are strictly prohibited in standard curbside carts. Victorville residents can safely dispose of these materials at the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center located near the fairgrounds on Loves Lane.
