Holiday Schedule
General Rule
If your normal collection day falls on or after an observed holiday during the week, your service will be delayed by one day for the remainder of that week.
Yard Waste Exception
Organics and recycling follow the exact same holiday delay schedule as regular trash collection.
Holidays that fall on a Saturday or Sunday DO NOT delay waste removal services for the remainder of the week. Holidays like Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Veterans Day do not affect the schedule.

Say No to 'Compostable' Plastics
EDCO's Anaerobic Digester cannot break down bioplastics. Never place 'compostable' or 'biodegradable' bags, cups, or utensils in your green organics cart. Keep all materials loose or use plain paper bags instead.
Tanglers Go to the Landfill
Garden hoses, electrical cords, wire, and clothing will instantly jam the spinning gears at the recycling sorting facility. These items belong in your gray trash cart or should be donated if in good condition.
Keep Recyclables Unbagged
Never pack your recyclables into plastic grocery bags or black trash bags. Bagged recyclables are routinely discarded as trash because workers cannot safely open them to see what's inside. Throw recyclables loose into the blue cart.

Winter
Late December to JanuaryEDCO provides annual Christmas tree recycling. Place your bare tree next to your green cart on your regular collection day. Trees taller than 4 feet must be cut in half, and all lights, ornaments, stands, and tinsel must be completely removed. Flocked trees are not accepted in the organics program.
Spring
Dates Vary AnnuallyKeep an eye out for EDCO's annual FREE document shredding, electronic waste collection, and mulch giveaway event. Details are mailed to residents prior to the event, offering a perfect opportunity for secure spring cleaning and garden prep.
Year-Round
