Yard Waste Bin
Yard waste is collected on your weekly bulk day. Small lawn clippings must be bagged in clear bags. Unbundled tree trimmings should not exceed 5 feet in length or 50 pounds per piece.

Once a week on your designated collection zone day.
Placement
Set out no earlier than 7:00 PM the night before and no later than 7:00 AM on collection day. Do not place under trees or power lines, as the mechanical claw truck requires overhead clearance.

If you exceed the 6 cubic yard limit, the pile will not be hauled away for free. Coastal Waste will tag your door with instructions and options for fee-based special collection.
Holiday Schedule
General Rule
Coastal Waste & Recycling observes only Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. There is no collection on these two days. If your regular pickup day falls on either holiday, your items will be picked up on your next regularly scheduled collection day (service does not slide by one day).
Yard Waste Exception
Bulk and yard waste follow the same holiday suspension rule. If your bulk day falls on Thanksgiving or Christmas, it will be skipped until the following week on your regular bulk day.
All other holidays, including New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day, operate on a normal collection schedule.

Separate Your Spray Nozzles
While plastic bottles and jugs (#1 and #2) are highly recyclable in the Blue Cart, the spray nozzles attached to cleaning bottles are made from different, non-recyclable plastics and contain metal springs. You must unscrew and throw the spray nozzles into the Green Cart.
Keep Plastic Bags Out of the Blue Cart
Never place your recyclables inside plastic garbage bags or grocery bags. The bags jam the mechanical gears at the recycling processing facility. If Coastal Waste drivers spot bags in your Blue Cart, it will not be collected, or the contents will be redirected to the landfill.
Tape Glass Before Bulk Pickup
If you are disposing of large glass panels, windowpanes, or mirrors during your weekly bulk trash pickup, for the safety of the sanitation workers, you must heavily tape an 'X' across the glass or wrap it securely in old blankets to prevent shattering.

June - NovemberIn the event of a named tropical storm or hurricane approaching Broward County, halt all major tree trimming immediately. Do not place bulk items, yard waste, or rollout carts at the curb, as severe winds can turn this debris into hazardous projectiles.

December - JanuaryTo accommodate the surge in household waste during the winter holidays, Coral Springs allows residents to place extra bagged or tied material next to their full carts during the week of December 26th through January 1st.

Navigating the Transition to Coastal Waste & Recycling
Effective October 1, 2024, the City of Coral Springs transitioned its residential solid waste services to Coastal Waste & Recycling. Single-family homes receive comprehensive curbside services, which include twice-a-week garbage collection in the Green Cart, once-a-week recycling in the Blue Cart, and a designated weekly day for bulk and yard waste. Collections run from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and carts should be placed curbside no earlier than 7:00 PM the night prior.
Understanding the 6 Cubic Yard Bulk Trash Limit
Coral Springs offers a highly convenient weekly bulk trash pickup, but residents must strictly adhere to the six-cubic-yard volume limit (roughly the size of three standard refrigerators or six kitchen stoves). Out of these six cubic yards, only two cubic yards can consist of home construction debris. If a pile exceeds the limit, Coastal will tag the debris with haul-away instructions and the pile will be left behind. It is crucial that hired landscapers and contractors haul away their own generated debris.
The Wiles Road Waste Transfer Station
For residents who miss their weekly bulk day or need to dispose of items immediately, the City provides a free Waste Transfer Station located at 12600 Wiles Road. Open on Wednesdays (for recycling only) and on weekends for bulk, yard waste, and organics, this facility is strictly for Coral Springs residents. You must bring a valid ID and proof of address. Commercial vehicles and moving trucks are completely prohibited from using the drop-off site.
Mastering the 'Recycle Right' Program
Contamination is a major issue in the recycling industry, and Coral Springs actively combats it with the 'Recycle Right' initiative. All items placed in the Blue Cart must be empty, clean, and dry. Plastic bags are strictly forbidden—if your recyclables are bagged, the entire cart may be rejected at the curb or thrown away as garbage at the processing facility.
