Holiday Schedule
General Rule
If a recognized holiday falls on a weekday, garbage and yard waste collections for the remainder of that week will be delayed by one day.
Yard Waste Exception
Because yard waste is collected on the same day as household garbage, both services follow the exact same holiday delay schedule.
If a holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, residential collection schedules are not affected and routes remain on their normal days.

Keep Construction Debris Out of Bulk Piles
FCC Environmental will not pick up remodeling waste such as boards, tile, flooring, drywall, or cabinets during your free monthly bulk collection. You must hire a private franchise hauler for construction and demolition debris.
Disassemble Large Recreational Items
If you are discarding a metal swing set, basketball pole, or home gym equipment, it must be completely broken down before your scheduled bulk pickup. Any concrete bases attached to poles must be entirely removed.
Never Hide Hazardous Waste in the Cart
Do not throw pool chemicals, rechargeable batteries, wet paint, or pesticides into your FCC garbage cart. These items can cause dangerous fires in the collection trucks and must be taken to a Household Hazardous Waste center.

Due to exorbitant increases in recycling processing fees, the Clay County Board of County Commissioners voted to remove curbside recycling from the new FCC Environmental contract to prevent a massive cost hike for residents. Households that wish to recycle must now self-haul clean, flattened corrugated cardboard to designated Environmental Convenience Centers or the Rosemary Hill Solid Waste Facility.
Strict Overflow Bag Sticker Policy
Under the automated collection system, Fleming Island residents can no longer simply pile excess garbage bags next to their trash carts. FCC Environmental strictly enforces a closed-lid policy. If you have more trash than can fit inside the county-issued cart with the lid securely shut, you must place the excess in a bag and affix an official Clay County Overflow Sticker to it.
