Standard bulk pickup is included in your sanitation fee. However, appliances and tires require scheduling a special pickup through Public Works, and tires are limited to four per year.
Holiday Schedule
General Rule
Waste Pro only observes Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If the holiday falls on your collection day, service will be pushed back by one day. All subsequent days that week will also be delayed by one day, with Friday collections moving to Saturday.
Yard Waste Exception
Yard waste and recycling collections follow the exact same holiday delay schedule as regular garbage.
Waste Pro operates on a normal schedule for all other holidays, including New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day. Have your carts out by 7:00 a.m. as usual.

Keep Plastic Bags Out of the Yellow Cart
The most common recycling mistake in Jacksonville Beach is bagging recyclables. Plastic bags jam the sorting facility's gears. Place your paper, plastic, and glass loosely in the yellow-lidded cart.
Glass is Good, Lids are Bad
While you can recycle clear, brown, and green glass bottles and jars, you must remove the lids first. Ensure all glass containers are rinsed and dry before tossing them in.
No Treated Wood in Yard Debris
Yard waste is strictly for natural, vegetative growth. Old fencing, plywood, landscape timbers, or painted wood will contaminate the yard waste stream and will not be picked up by the yard waste trucks.

Hurricane Season
June - NovemberDo not begin major tree trimming projects once a tropical storm or hurricane warning is announced. High winds can turn yard debris piles into dangerous projectiles. Following a major storm, special disaster debris contractors will be deployed to assist with cleanup.
Winter Holidays
Late December - JanuaryThanksgiving and Christmas are the only two holidays that disrupt the Waste Pro schedule. If your collection day falls on or after these holidays, your service will be delayed by one day for the remainder of that week.
Spring Cleaning
March - MayIf you are doing a massive spring cleanout and generate more than 5 cubic yards of yard waste or bulk trash, you will need to rent a private roll-off dumpster, as Waste Pro will not collect excessive piles generated by major landscaping or cleanouts.

Solid waste services in the coastal community of Jacksonville Beach are contracted through Waste Pro USA. This includes weekly collection for standard household garbage, single-stream recycling, yard waste, and bulky items. Because collection routes span the entire beach area, pickup times can range anywhere from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. If you believe your cart was missed, you must wait until after 7:00 p.m. to report it to Waste Pro directly.
Contractor Debris is Your Responsibility
Jacksonville Beach Public Works strictly enforces rules regarding professionally generated waste. If you hire a contractor for home remodeling, landscaping, or tree cutting, the resulting debris will not be collected by Waste Pro under the city's sanitation contract. It is the responsibility of the homeowner to ensure the hired contractor hauls away their own debris, or the homeowner must arrange and pay for a private dumpster rental.
Special Handling for Hazardous and Electronic Waste
Protecting the coastal environment means keeping dangerous chemicals out of the standard waste stream. Jacksonville Beach does not accept hazardous materials or electronic waste (e-waste) in curbside bins. However, the City of Jacksonville Solid Waste Division hosts mobile collection events in Jacksonville Beach one to two times per year. Alternatively, residents can transport these materials year-round to the Duval County Hazardous Waste facility.
