Holiday Schedule
General Rule
If an observed holiday falls on a Monday or Tuesday (on or before your scheduled Tuesday pickup), collection will be delayed by one day, moving to Wednesday.
Yard Waste Exception
Yard waste follows the exact same holiday delay rules, provided the holiday falls during the active April through November compost season.
Only the six specific observed holidays listed will affect your trash pickup schedule. Other federal holidays do not cause delays.

Keep Pizza Boxes Out
Used pizza boxes are strictly prohibited from the Davison Township recycling stream. The grease and melted cheese ruin paper fibers during the pulping process, potentially contaminating the entire batch of recycled cardboard.
Cut Down Cardboard
Do not simply toss giant, unflattened boxes into your bin. Emterra requires all cardboard to be broken down and cut into pieces no larger than 24 by 24 inches to ensure they fit properly into the automated collection trucks.
Proper Paint Disposal
Liquid paint is hazardous and will not be collected. However, you can dispose of latex paint in the regular trash if you completely dry it out first by mixing in kitty litter or sand. Place the can at the curb with the lid off to show it is fully solidified.
