Green Cart Bin (Trash)
All trash must be bagged and fit entirely inside the green cart provided by WM. The lid must close completely. Bags left outside the cart will not be collected.

Drop-off is included with your Solid Waste Fee. If the site dumpsters are full, it will close. Excess trash can also be taken to the WM Transfer Station on Baraga Ave for a weight-based fee.

General Rule
Waste Management (WM) provides collection on all holidays in Marquette. Your curbside service day will not be delayed for any holiday.
Yard Waste Exception
Yard waste is managed seasonally by the city through zone collections and drop-off sites, not weekly curbside pickup.
Even on holidays, ensure your carts are at the curb by 7:00 a.m. with wheels facing the curb and away from parked cars.

For leaves and grass clippings, residents must either rake them into loose piles at the street edge or place them in biodegradable paper landscape bags. Plastic bags are strictly prohibited for yard waste. All organic materials must be at the curb by 7:00 AM on your scheduled route day.
