Holiday Schedule
General Rule
There is no collection on major Borough holidays. Residents are advised to download the Recycle Coach app for automatic notifications regarding shifted pickup days.
Yard Waste Exception
If a collection day falls on or before a holiday, vegetation collection will resume the following working day and continue until all streets are collected.
Juneteenth is an exception; trash collection will continue as scheduled despite Borough offices being closed.

Never Bag Your Recycling
Lindenwold uses a single-stream recycling system. Do not place recyclables inside plastic garbage bags or grocery sacks. Plastic bags tangle in the sorting facility's equipment and will cause your blue-lidded cart to be rejected at the curb.
Securely Wrap Solid Waste
Unlike your recycling, household garbage should never be thrown loosely into the black-lidded trash cart. Drain all excess liquids and securely wrap or bag your trash to prevent leaks, odors, and windblown litter when the automated arm lifts the bin.
Keep Construction Debris Out of Bulk Piles
Do not mix concrete, wood scraps, or construction materials into your Thursday bulk pickup or regular trash. Contractors must haul away their own debris, and DIY homeowners must rent a dumpster or take small amounts directly to the Public Works yard.

January to OctoberDuring these months, residents with valid ID can drop off yard waste directly at the Public Works yard on Gibbsboro Road, Monday through Friday between 7:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Contractors are barred from using this drop-off.
Fall
Late October to DecemberDedicated leaf collection typically begins around the last week of October. The Borough asks residents to check the CivicEngage calendar and Recycle Coach app for specific zone schedules and guidelines on leaf piling.
Winter
December to MarchDuring winter weather events, ensure your carts are placed clear of snowbanks by 6:30 AM. Additionally, the first-Monday monthly bulk yard waste program is paused during November and December.

Lindenwold's Automated Cart Spacing Rules
The Borough of Lindenwold uses a highly efficient automated mechanical arm system for solid waste and recycling collection. Because of this equipment, the Public Works Department enforces strict spacing guidelines. Residents must place their carts a minimum of 10 feet away from parked cars and 3 feet away from fences, mailboxes, utility poles, or other carts. Failure to provide this clearance will prevent the trucks from emptying your bins.
Strict Weekly Limit on Bulk Waste
If you are clearing out furniture, beds, or appliances, Lindenwold restricts bulk waste pickups to just one item per week per household. These large items are exclusively collected on Thursdays. Residents are required to call the Department of Public Works in advance to schedule the pickup. Keep in mind that construction debris is entirely banned from curbside collection; homeowners doing renovations must hire a private dumpster.
Managing Yard Waste: Weekly vs. Monthly Collections
The Borough provides a dedicated green-lidded 96-gallon cart for weekly vegetative waste, such as grass clippings and small garden trimmings. However, if you have bulk yard waste—like large branches, shrubs, or brush—the DPW collects these strictly on the first Monday of the month from January through October. Large branches must be cut to four-foot lengths, tied in bundles under 50 pounds, and limited to two cubic yards per home.
Acquiring Extra Carts or Replacements
Every residence in Lindenwold is assigned one black-lidded trash cart and one blue-lidded recycling cart, which remain the property of the Borough. Because privately purchased cans are prohibited, residents needing extra capacity must formally request a second container and pay a one-time fee of $70. If your cart is physically damaged, the DPW will repair or replace it, but they will not swap containers simply due to odor or lack of routine cleaning.
