Holiday Schedule
General Rule
There is no pickup on observed holidays. Route schedules are altered for the entire week; for example, a Friday holiday often accelerates Friday routes to Thursday, and Thursday routes to Wednesday.
Yard Waste Exception
All Wednesday Bulk Rubbish and Green Waste pickups are completely canceled during any week that contains a village-observed holiday.

Absolutely No Bags for Yard Waste
Unlike neighboring towns that require biodegradable paper bags, Port Chester DPW rules explicitly state that green waste will NOT be collected if placed in a bag of any kind. Use an open, rigid container instead.
E-Waste Does Not Go Curbside
Sanitation crews will not pick up televisions, computers, monitors, cell phones, or corded kitchen appliances from the curb. You must manually deliver these e-waste items directly to the DPW garage on Fox Island Road.
Keep Plastic Lids Off Glass Jars
While metal lids on glass jars are perfectly fine to recycle in your comingled bin, the Westchester County guidelines prohibit leaving plastic caps on jars or tubs. Remove plastic caps and toss them in your regular garbage.
