Holiday Schedule
General Rule
If an observed holiday falls on a weekday (Monday-Friday), trash and recycling collection for that day and the remainder of the week will be delayed by one day.
Yard Waste Exception
Because yard waste and extra bulk items are picked up concurrently with standard refuse, their collection will also follow the same one-day holiday delay.
If a holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, there is no disruption to the Monday through Friday collection schedule.

Do Not Bag Recyclables
Keep all items in your green Rumpke cart loose. Plastic grocery bags and trash bags get tangled in the gears of the recycling sorting facility, causing equipment damage and delays.
Protect Against Bedbugs
Before placing a mattress, box spring, or piece of upholstered furniture at the curb for collection, it must be entirely wrapped and sealed in plastic. Rumpke will leave unwrapped mattresses behind.
Keep Yard Waste Out of the Green Cart
Although yard clippings are organic, they contaminate the single-stream recycling load. Always put yard waste in your brown refuse cart, brown paper bags, or bundle it separately at the curb.
