Holiday Schedule
General Rule
Rumpke ONLY observes Christmas Day and New Year's Day. If either holiday falls on a weekday on or before your collection day, service is delayed by one day.
Yard Waste Exception
Winter monthly yard waste collected by the city may be delayed due to snow removal priorities or severe winter weather.
Rumpke collects on a normal schedule for ALL other major holidays, including Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving.

No Construction Debris
Rumpke front-load trucks cannot handle bulky building materials. Drywall, concrete, bricks, dirt, and rocks are strictly prohibited curbside and require special disposal arrangements.
Keep Leaves off Storm Basins
During the city's fall leaf pickup, place leaves strictly on the tree lawn. Raking them into the street or over storm sewer basins clogs drains and creates frozen road hazards when snow arrives.

Residents can actively opt out of the standard Rumpke cart program by contacting the city and switching to a Pay-As-You-Throw sticker program. Instead of a flat monthly fee, these residents purchase specialized refuse stickers at the City office—sold in sets of five for $1.97 each—affixing one to each bag they throw away.
Dual-Method Yard Waste Processing
Managing yard waste in Sidney is highly seasonal and relies on two different fleets. During the growing season from May to November, Rumpke collects your yard waste weekly if placed inside your trash cart, brown paper bags, or labeled personal cans. However, from December through April, the City of Sidney crews take over, collecting yard waste only once a month during the second full week.
