Holiday Schedule
General Rule
When an observed holiday falls on a weekday, collections for that day and the rest of the week will shift one day forward, with Friday serving as the makeup day for Thursday collections.
Yard Waste Exception
Heavy trash and yard waste collections follow the exact same shifted holiday schedule as standard garbage.
All other standard holidays, such as Memorial Day or Labor Day, are regular work days for city collection crews and the municipal landfill.

Blue Containers Are Retired
Starting September 1, 2026, the city will officially stop collecting materials from the old blue recycling carts left over from the 2019 program. You must transition to using only the official green 96-gallon trash carts.

Beginning September 1, 2026, city solid waste crews will no longer collect materials from any blue bins. Residents must place all household refuse into the city-issued 96-gallon green carts. If your family generates more waste than a single cart can hold, you can easily request up to four additional green carts for a nominal fee of $5.00 per month each, directly added to your water bill.

While many Texas municipalities require residents to schedule bulk pick-ups months in advance or limit them to twice a year, Beaumont provides an incredible weekly heavy trash collection. On your regular garbage collection day, city crews will pick up large yard waste, including branches up to eight feet long, as well as old furniture, mattresses, appliances, and even up to four tires per year. Remember to stack these bulky items neatly at the curb, ensuring they are clear of low-hanging utility lines, water meters, and intersection sightlines.
Innovative Curbside Motor Oil Disposal
One of the most unique aspects of Beaumont's solid waste program is the weekly curbside collection of used motor oil and oil filters. Designed for the 'do-it-yourself' mechanic, this service allows residents to place up to five gallons of drained motor oil at the curb. The oil must be sealed tightly in clear or opaque white plastic jugs with screw-on caps, and the lids taped securely. Place these jugs, along with your used oil filters enclosed in a plastic bag, three feet away from your green garbage cart on your standard collection day.
