Placement
For monthly collection, place items at the curb by the Sunday before your scheduled zone week. Keep piles away from low-hanging wires, parked cars, and water meters.

Bulk collection is included in the standard municipal residential rate; however, unaccepted materials like construction debris require the resident to haul them to a regional landfill at their own expense.

General Rule
Waste Connections only observes New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. If the holiday falls on a weekday, service will be disrupted. If the holiday falls on a weekend, there is no interruption of service.
Yard Waste Exception
Small bulk and yard waste collections scheduled for a holiday will experience the same delays as the regular garbage collection.
Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day are considered normal, regular collection days in Burleson. Do not delay your bins on these summer holidays.

March - MayHeavy spring landscaping often generates brush piles larger than 3 cubic yards. If your limbs exceed this weekly limit, store them out of sight until the Sunday before your zone's designated monthly bulk collection week.
Fall
September - NovemberFall leaf cleanup is easy in Burleson. You no longer need specialty kraft paper bags; simply rake your leaves into standard plastic trash bags (weighing under 35 pounds) and set them out on your second weekly collection day.
Winter
December - JanuaryIf Christmas Day or New Year's Day falls on a weekday, Waste Connections suspends service. However, they continue normal service on all other minor holidays, so do not assume a delay for Presidents' Day or MLK Day.

Do I need to buy brown paper bags for my leaves and grass clippings?
No. The City of Burleson no longer requires yard waste to be placed in paper yard bags. You can place leaves and grass clippings in standard plastic garbage bags, as long as they weigh 35 pounds or less, and set them out on your second weekly collection day.
When is my large bulky waste picked up?
If your bulk or brush pile is larger than 3 cubic yards, it will be collected once a month based on your Solid Waste Zone. You must place your items at the curb the Sunday before your assigned week (the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th Monday of the month).
Can I recycle my moving boxes?
Yes. You must remove all styrofoam and plastic packing materials first. You can then break the boxes down and place them inside your 65-gallon recycling cart, or you can stack the broken-down boxes together into one larger box and leave them next to your regular trash.
Does my trash pickup schedule change on Memorial Day or the 4th of July?
