Grey (95-gallon) Bin (Trash)
All household trash must be securely bagged inside the grey cart. No loose trash is allowed, and items placed outside or next to the cart will not be collected. Set out by 7:00 a.m.

Blue Bin (Recycling)
Items must be empty, rinsed, dry, and placed loosely in the blue cart (do not bag recyclables). Place at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on your designated collection day.

Once a month, during the first full work week of the month (beginning on Monday).
Placement
Set out no earlier than 6:00 p.m. the day before your pickup and no later than 7:00 a.m. on collection day. Keep 3 feet of clearance from mailboxes, cars, and utility poles.

Holiday Schedule
General Rule
For CWD-serviced trash and recycling, schedule shifts for major holidays are posted directly on the City of Farmers Branch website. Collections may be delayed by one day.
Yard Waste Exception
The City-operated Green Grabber observes additional holidays (Good Friday, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Christmas Eve, etc.). If your brush day falls on a holiday, there is no pickup; service resumes the following week.
Always refer to the FBTX Connect app or the city's official sanitation calendar during holiday weeks, as the hauler (CWD) and the city (Green Grabber) observe different holiday closures.

March - MayTake advantage of the weekly Green Grabber service for heavy spring pruning. Just remember that loose brush is collected every week *except* the first full week of the month, which is reserved strictly for bulky waste items like furniture.
Fall
September - NovemberWhen raking autumn leaves, remember that the Green Grabber claw does not collect bagged yard waste. Place all bagged leaves directly into your grey CWD trash cart, ensuring each individual bag weighs less than 50 pounds.
Winter
December - FebruaryThe holiday season brings several schedule adjustments for the city-run fleet. The Green Grabber brush service completely suspends operations on Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.

Does Farmers Branch require tree brush to be bundled and tied?
No. Unlike many other cities, the Farmers Branch Green Grabber allows you to place brush and tree limbs up to eight feet long completely loose at the curb. Do not tie them or place them in bags.
When can I put my bulk trash out at the curb?
Bulk trash is only collected during the first full work week of the month. You may place bulky items at the curb no earlier than 6:00 p.m. on the day prior to your scheduled service and by 7:00 a.m. on the day of collection.
What should I do with excess trash that doesn't fit in my grey cart?
All regular household trash must fit inside your grey cart with the lid closed. Excess bagged trash placed on the ground will not be collected by CWD. You can self-haul excess waste to the Camelot Landfill in Lewisville for free using a recent utility bill as proof of residency.
Can I put bagged leaves out for the Green Grabber to pick up?
No. The Green Grabber mechanical claw does not pick up bagged material. Bagged leaves, grass clippings, and small twigs must be placed inside your grey CWD trash cart, provided each bag weighs less than 50 pounds.
