Exceeding the 3-cubic-yard limit, requesting more than two pickups a year, or setting out mattresses/tires at the landfill may incur specific surcharge fees from TDS.
Holiday Schedule
General Rule
If your scheduled pickup day falls on or after a major observed holiday, your collection will slide forward by one day for the remainder of that week (e.g., Wednesday pickup moves to Thursday).
Yard Waste Exception
Bi-weekly recycling and green waste collections follow the exact same holiday delay schedule as standard trash.
Texas Disposal Systems operates on all other holidays, including Memorial Day, Labor Day, and Independence Day. Keep your carts out on those days.

Keep Plastic Bags Out of the Compost
Never place compostable items into plastic bags. Once green waste is sealed in standard plastic, the processing facility treats the entire bag as non-compostable trash, defeating the purpose of the program.
Pizza Boxes Go in Green Waste, Not Recycling
Because they are heavily soiled with grease and food remnants, pizza boxes cannot be recycled into new paper products. However, the City of Kyle allows you to toss them directly into your green waste cart for composting.
Properly Secure Broken Glass
While broken glass is accepted in the regular trash bin, you must wrap it thoroughly in several layers of newspaper, place it inside a box, and explicitly label it 'BROKEN GLASS' to protect TDS collection operators from injury.

December - JanuaryThe City of Kyle runs a holiday tree recycling program from December 26 through January 31. Set your bare, unflocked, natural Christmas tree (cut in half) next to your curbside carts on your regular pickup day.
Extreme Cold/Ice Events
January - FebruaryDuring severe Central Texas winter storms or ice events, TDS may delay collections for driver safety. If services are suspended, schedules typically slide one day forward for the remainder of the week once roads clear.

Monthly Landfill Drop-Off Perks for Residents
