General Rule
For 2026, collections will continue for every Monday and Thursday regardless of holidays, with the sole exception of Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, 11/26/2026), when there will be no collections.
Yard Waste Exception
Yard waste and bulk trash follow the exact same schedule as standard household garbage and will be skipped on Thanksgiving Day.
All other federal holidays (e.g., Memorial Day, Labor Day, Christmas) do not interrupt the standard Monday and Thursday collection routine in Pecan Grove.

Beware of the Styrofoam Trap
Although styrofoam is accepted at the Fort Bend County drop-off center, it is strictly prohibited in the GFL curbside recycling program. Placing it in your cart can cause the recycling vendor to refuse the entire load.
Weight Limits Matter
Do not overload your customer-provided trash cans. GFL manual loaders cannot lift containers or bags exceeding 50 pounds. Overweight containers will receive a notice to remove content for the next scheduled day.
Separate Hazardous Household Items
Never put tires, latex paint, electronics, or batteries into your curbside recycling or trash. These must be driven to the Fort Bend County Recycling Center on Blume Road for safe processing.

Unlike many municipalities that enforce rigid city-issued carts, Pecan Grove residents can use their own customer-provided cans, provided they do not exceed 50 gallons in volume or 50 pounds in weight, unless they purchased a specialized cart directly from GFL.
Geographic Recycling Split on Plantation Drive
The neighborhood is incredibly efficient when it comes to curbside recycling, boasting one of the highest participation rates in the metro area. To manage the heavy volume, GFL splits the community's weekly single-stream recycling route based on geography. If your home is located north of Plantation Drive, your dedicated recycling day is Monday. However, if you live on Plantation Drive or anywhere south of it, you must place your recyclables at the curb on Thursday. Regardless of your zone, all bins must be set out by 7:00 a.m.

A single bundle cannot exceed 50 pounds. Furthermore, soil, rocks, bricks, and concrete are strictly prohibited from curbside yard waste piles and will be tagged and left behind.

While standard recycling operates Monday through Saturday, hazardous materials are specifically accepted on Mondays and the first Saturday of each month.
