The weekly two-cubic-yard limit is included in your standard utility fee. If you exceed this volume or the 50 lb per item weight limit, you must schedule a special pickup with CWD at 972-392-9300, which incurs additional charges.
Holiday Schedule
General Rule
If your scheduled collection day falls on an observed holiday, your service will be delayed by one day for the remainder of that week (e.g., Thursday collections move to Friday, Friday moves to Saturday).
Yard Waste Exception
Because brush and bulky waste are collected on the same day as your regular household trash, they will follow the exact same holiday delay schedule.
If a holiday falls on a weekend, your weekday service schedule will not be impacted.

Never Bag Your Recyclables
When loading your blue 95-gallon recycling cart, keep all items loose. Placing recyclables in plastic trash bags will cause your cart to be rejected, as film plastics easily tangle in the machinery at the CWD sorting facility.
No Pool Chemicals in HHW Bags
When utilizing the specialized door-side Household Hazardous Waste collection, do not place pool chemicals into the provided collection bag. Mixing these can spark a dangerous chemical reaction or start a fire. Keep them separate and follow CWD's exact packing instructions.
Flatten Cardboard to Save Space
Your blue cart can fill up incredibly fast during the holidays or after online shopping deliveries. Make sure you break down and fully flatten all cardboard boxes to ensure the automated collection truck can empty your cart efficiently without items wedging inside.

Winter
December - JanuaryCWD provides annual curbside Christmas tree recycling at no additional cost for Red Oak residents. Remove all lights, tinsel, and ornaments, and do not place the tree in a plastic bag. Look for designated collection Wednesdays or Saturdays in early January.
Spring & Summer
March - AugustFollowing heavy Texas thunderstorms, residents may have excessive yard debris. Remember that the weekly brush limit remains two cubic yards unless previously scheduled. If you have a larger pile (more than 8 yards), you must contact CWD to schedule and pay for a specialized storm debris pickup.
Fall
October - NovemberAs leaves begin to drop, ensure that any bagged leaves placed outside of your cart weigh no more than 50 pounds. Grass clippings and yard debris must never be blown into the street, as this violates Red Oak city ordinances and disrupts drainage.

Residents can set out up to two cubic yards of bulky waste and loose brush each week—roughly equivalent to the size of a standard washer and dryer placed side by side. Any single item over 150 pounds or piles exceeding the two-yard maximum without a previously scheduled special pickup will not be serviced by CWD crews.
