Yard Waste Exception
Yard waste collection goes on a complete hiatus during January and February, except for the designated early January Christmas tree pickups.

Keep Glass Out of the Blue Lid Tote
Never place glass of any kind in your curbside recycling bin. It shatters during compaction and ruins entire batches of recyclable paper. Always utilize the Purple Can Club drop-off bins instead.
Leave Recyclables Loose
Bagging your recyclables in plastic grocery or trash bags causes severe jams in the material recovery facility's sorting machines. Keep all paper, plastics, and metals completely loose inside the tote.
No Construction Debris in Bulk
While Montclair offers excellent free bulk pickup for furniture, you cannot sneak prohibited items into the pile. Crews will reject tires, rocks, concrete, motor oil, wet paint, and any construction or remodeling debris.
