All garbage must be bagged and tied before being placed inside the cart. The lid must be completely closed. Place the cart curbside by 7:00 a.m. with the arrows facing the street and handles facing the house.

Placement
Place items curbside no earlier than the Saturday before your pickup day and have them out by 7:00 a.m. on collection day. Keep away from cars, mailboxes, and overhead wires.

If your pile exceeds 15 cubic yards, it will be tagged and left behind. You must then call Coastal Waste to schedule a special pickup and pay a per-yard overage fee (approximately $18.15+ per yard).
Holiday Schedule
General Rule
The Town of Davie and Coastal Waste only suspend solid waste services on Christmas Day. If your collection falls on Christmas, your trash will be skipped and collected on your NEXT regularly scheduled service day.
Yard Waste Exception
Monthly bulk pickup scheduled for Christmas Day will also be shifted to a specific makeup day later that same week.
For all other major holidays like Thanksgiving or New Year's Day, collection routes operate on a completely normal schedule.

Due to high contamination rates and the collapse of the global recycling market, it became too expensive for Davie to process traditional recyclables. Currently, items in your beige cart are incinerated at the Wheelabrator plant to create electricity. However, the town strictly requires you to keep separating recyclables so residents are ready when a new local recycling facility opens.
Can I throw loose leaves in my monthly bulk pile?
No. The claw trucks used by Coastal Waste cannot scoop up loose debris like piles of leaves, small twigs, or grass clippings. All loose yard waste must be placed in strong plastic bags weighing no more than 50 pounds. However, tree limbs (up to 5 feet) and palm fronds can be left unbagged.
