Holiday Schedule
General Rule
If a recognized holiday falls on a weekday, garbage and yard waste collections for the remainder of that week will be delayed by one day.
Yard Waste Exception
Because yard waste is collected on the same day as household garbage, both services follow the exact same holiday delay schedule.
If a holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, residential collection schedules are not affected and remain on their normal days.

If you have more trash than your cart can hold, you cannot just leave extra bags on the curb. You must place the excess in a bag (weighing 40 pounds or less) and attach an official Clay County Overflow sticker to it, with the sticker facing the road.
