Holiday Schedule
General Rule
Prince George's County uses a 'slide' schedule. When an observed holiday falls on a weekday, collections for that day and all subsequent days that week are pushed back by one day, resulting in a Saturday pickup for Friday routes.
Yard Waste Exception
Because organics and yard trim are collected on Mondays, a Monday holiday will push organic collections to Tuesday.
Bulky trash appointments for appliances and scrap tires are suspended on holidays and will resume on the next normal business day.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an appointment for bulky trash pickup in Camp Springs?
No appointment is needed for standard furniture. You can leave up to four acceptable bulky items at the curb on your regular trash collection day. However, you still need to schedule an appointment via PGC311 for scrap tires and large white goods (appliances).
What happens if my county-issued trash or recycling cart gets stolen?
Prince George's County does not replace lost or stolen collection carts. You will need to purchase a replacement cart from a hardware store. Your new cart must not exceed 60 pounds when full and should be clearly marked with 'TRASH', 'RECYCLE', or a large 'X'.
How should I dispose of bamboo from my yard?
Bamboo is not accepted as yard trim. It must be prepared as standard trash. Cut the bamboo into pieces no longer than 4 feet, tie it into bundles, and place up to four bundles next to your trash cart for regular collection.
Can I put food scraps in my yard waste container?
Yes. The county provides curbside composting every Monday. You can safely mix standard yard trim (leaves, brush, grass) with food scraps in your organic waste bin or paper yard bags.
