New Solid Waste Partnership in Brunswick
As of July 1, 2024, the City of Brunswick officially transitioned its waste collection and recycling services to Kimble Recycling & Disposal Inc. Under this new contract, residents are provided with one trash cart (black lid) and one recycle cart. Personal garbage cans are no longer serviced; all waste must go into the city-provided carts. If you consistently generate more waste, you can request up to two additional trash or recycle carts for a one-time fee of $55 each by calling Kimble directly.
Handling Extra Trash and Cart Overflows
Brunswick’s waste guidelines recognize that households occasionally produce excess garbage. If your primary black-lid cart is full, or if an item is too awkwardly shaped to fit inside, you may place the overflow materials next to the cart. This extra material must be bagged securely, cannot exceed 35 pounds per bag, and must not total more than 2 cubic yards. Ensure these bags are placed near, but not leaning against, the cart to avoid interfering with the automated collection arm.
