Holiday Schedule
General Rule
Rumpke delays collection by one day if an observed holiday falls on a weekday on or before your normal service day during that week.
Yard Waste Exception
Because yard waste is collected concurrently with standard trash, it follows the exact same holiday delay schedule.
Holidays like Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Presidents' Day do not affect Rumpke's schedule. If a major holiday falls on a weekend, your weekday collection will not be delayed.

Despite this major transition in service providers, residents can rest easy knowing their traditional collection days and schedules remain completely unchanged. Since routes begin as early as 6:00 a.m., it is highly recommended that you place your newly issued Rumpke carts at the curb the night before your scheduled collection to guarantee pickup.
Versatile Cart Sizing to Fit Your Household
Gone are the days of one-size-fits-all waste management. Piqua homeowners now have the flexibility to select standard 95-gallon, 65-gallon, or smaller 35-gallon refuse carts to suit their specific household output. Additionally, every home receives a 65-gallon cart specifically designated for single-stream recycling. If you find yourself consistently producing extra waste, you can request and rent additional carts, which will be billed directly to you on a quarterly basis by Rumpke.
Specialized Autumn Leaf Vacuuming by Public Works
While Rumpke collects standard bagged and bundled yard waste year-round, the City of Piqua Public Works Department steps up every fall to manage the heavy influx of autumn foliage.
