Combined weight of contents and cart cannot exceed 100 pounds. The lid must be completely closed. Carts must be placed curbside by 7:30 a.m. with the lid opening facing the street. Maintain 3 feet of clearance.

Collection is every other Friday (Green or Yellow schedule). Items should be placed loosely in the cart. Recyclables must be rinsed clean of food and beverages to prevent contaminating the entire truckload.

Placement
Items must not be placed at the curb more than 10 days prior to your collection day. Keep clear of power lines, vehicles, mailboxes, and do not place on top of water meters.

Included in standard rates. If your items exceed allowed amounts or consist of construction debris, you will need to utilize the Kerrville Landfill (standard tipping fees apply unless using a free voucher).
Holiday Schedule
General Rule
Republic Services lists specific holidays as 'No Service' days on the Solid Waste Calendar. When a scheduled collection falls on one of these dates, collections are typically pushed to a designated 'Makeup Service Day'.
Yard Waste Exception
If a holiday causes a delay in your designated yard waste week, service crews will automatically continue clearing your street through the following week.

Spring
March - AprilMarch is one of the two designated months for Kerrville's bulky item collection. Prepare your old furniture and rolled carpet (max 6 ft by 6 ft) and have it at the curb by 7:30 a.m. on the Monday of your designated Blue, Peach, or Purple week.
Fall
October - NovemberOctober hosts the second bi-annual bulk collection. As fall leaves begin to drop, remember that you are limited to setting out 25 bags of leaves (weighing no more than 35 pounds each) during your monthly yard waste week.
Winter
January - FebruaryJanuary 1st marks the date when the new calendar year's landfill vouchers become available. Stop by City Hall to pick up your two free annual vouchers if you have post-holiday cleanout needs.

For scrap metal, keep an eye out for local scrap yards; sometimes, they're happy to take old appliances or metal odds and ends off your hands. It's always a good idea to call ahead to see what they accept and if they'll pay for it.

Recycling is collected exclusively on Fridays, but it operates on an every-other-week schedule. If your regular trash day is Monday or Tuesday, your recycling is on 'Green Fridays'. If your trash day is Wednesday or Thursday, your recycling is on 'Yellow Fridays'.
How many bags of leaves can I put out for yard waste collection?
During your assigned monthly brush and yard waste week, you may set out a maximum of 25 bags of leaves or grass clippings. Each bag must weigh no more than 35 pounds and be sturdy enough to remain intact when lifted.
