General Rule
All ACDI departments are closed on these three holidays. When a holiday falls on a weekday, service runs one day later than usual for the remainder of the week.
Yard Waste Exception
This one-day delay applies uniformly to all residential collections, including bundled yard waste placed out as bulk.
Service runs exactly as normally scheduled if the observed holiday falls on a weekend.

Keep Plastic Bags Out
Never bag your recyclables in plastic bags. Bags jam the mechanical sorting equipment at the Balcones Resources recovery facility where ACDI delivers Central Texas recycling.
Clean and Dry is the Rule
All accepted metals, glass, paper, and plastics must be completely empty. Take a moment to rinse out containers and ensure you remove all caps before tossing them into your recycling cart.
Proper Paint Disposal
Liquid paint is considered hazardous and cannot go into your Hutto trash cart. However, if you let latex paint dry completely solid (by leaving the lid off), you may place the dried can next to your garbage cart for collection.
