Bag all trash to prevent pests.

Included in regular utility rates. However, special hauls for overages or loose unbundled brush require a call to CWD and incur an extra fee based on cubic yardage.
Holiday Schedule
General Rule
CWD only observes four major holidays. If your collection day falls on one of these holidays, service will be skipped and will resume on your next regularly scheduled pick-up day (there is no one-day delay shift).
Yard Waste Exception
Yard waste and bulk collections adhere to the same holiday skip rule. Regular pickups resume on the following scheduled day.
The CWD Transfer Station is also closed on these holidays.

!Contamination Tips
Biodegradable Twine is Key
If you want your yard trimmings to be composted at the Living Earth facility rather than buried in the landfill, you must use biodegradable cotton or jute rope to tie your bundles. Nylon rope, wire, or plastic ties will contaminate the compost.
Safe Sharps Disposal
Never throw loose needles or syringes in the trash or recycling. Keller allows you to dispose of sharps in normal garbage only if they are sealed tightly inside a hard plastic or metal container (like a laundry detergent bottle), reinforced with heavy-duty tape, and clearly labeled.
Keep Plastic Bags Out of the Blue Bin
Plastic grocery bags and films tangle the sorting machinery at CWD's recycling facilities. Always leave your recyclables loose inside the blue cart or green bins.
Seasonal Information
Summer
June to AugustDue to extreme Texas summer heat, CWD implements a modified summer schedule to protect its drivers. During these months, all garbage and recycling must be placed at the curb by 6:00 a.m. instead of the standard 7:00 a.m.
Autumn
October to DecemberCWD hosts Special Fall Leaf Collections. On these specific dates, leaves bagged in plastic are accepted in larger quantities and routed to the landfill. Check the city calendar for exact collection days.
Winter
JanuaryAfter the holidays, Keller provides curbside Christmas tree recycling at no additional cost. Ensure your tree is completely stripped of tinsel, lights, and ornaments before placing it at the curb in early January.

Keller's Strategic Two-Day Yard Waste System
The City of Keller, in partnership with Community Waste Disposal (CWD), offers a highly specialized yard waste collection system designed to promote sustainability. Depending on your neighborhood, you have two collection days per week (either Monday/Thursday or Tuesday/Friday). If you place properly bundled brush and kraft-bagged leaves out on your first collection day, a dedicated CWD truck will transport them to a Living Earth facility for composting. Any yard waste set out on the second collection day goes directly to the landfill.
Transitioning to 95-Gallon Garbage Carts
Keller is currently upgrading its municipal solid waste infrastructure. As part of an updated contract with CWD, residents can register to transition from traditional customer-provided bins and bags to 95-gallon rolling garbage carts. This rollout streamlines neighborhood collections, minimizes pest interference, and helps keep Keller streets cleaner. Residents transitioning to the new carts will still enjoy their standard twice-weekly pickup schedules.
Free Door-Side HHW and Electronics Collection
Disposing of chemicals and old gadgets is incredibly convenient for Keller residents. The CWD contract includes a premium Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and Used Electronics Door-side Collection program at no extra monthly cost. You can utilize this service up to once a month to safely dispose of paint, motor oil, batteries, and old TVs. To participate, residents simply need to call CWD at 817-795-9300 at least two weeks in advance to schedule the pickup and receive specialized containment bags.
Monthly Perks at the CWD Transfer Station
If a household project leaves you with more debris than the weekly 2-cubic-yard bulk allowance can handle, Keller residents have an excellent alternative. On the first Saturday of every month, residents are granted free disposal privileges at the CWD Transfer Station located at 2010 California Crossing in Dallas. Between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., you can drop off extra trash and bulk items by simply presenting a valid driver's license and a copy of your most recent City of Keller water bill.
