If a holiday falls on a weekday, collections will shift by one day AFTER the holiday for the remainder of the week. If the holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the collection schedule remains unchanged.
Yard Waste Exception
The city drop-off centers for brush and recycling may close or have adjusted hours on holidays or rainy days; always call ahead to confirm availability.
Since bulk waste is collected on the same day as your regular trash, your weekly bulk pickup will also shift by one day during holiday weeks.

!Contamination Tips
Flatten Your Cardboard
Before heading to the Field Road recycling center, take a moment to completely break down and flatten all cardboard boxes. This saves space in the collection bins and makes processing much more efficient.
Know Your Plastics
Paris only accepts plastics numbered 1, 2, and 5 for recycling. Always check the bottom of your plastic containers for the resin identification code, and throw away any other numbers into your regular trash poly cart.
Keep Glass Out
Glass bottles and jars are strictly prohibited at the Paris drop-off recycling center. Do not mix glass with your aluminum or paper, as it can shatter and contaminate the entire load.
Seasonal Information
Spring
March to MaySpring storms in Northeast Texas can bring strong winds. Ensure your poly cart lid is securely closed, and wait until the morning of your collection day to place bulk items on the curb so they don't blow into the street.
Summer
June to AugustWith the intense Lamar County summer heat, odors from food waste can quickly attract pests. Bag all your household garbage tightly before placing it in the poly cart to keep bugs and scavengers away.
Fall
September to NovemberAs trees drop their leaves, take advantage of the Bulk Brush Site to dispose of yard debris. Remember you can utilize this facility up to two times each month with a valid city water bill.
About Paris Waste Management
Comprehensive Trash Collection in Paris
In Paris, Texas, residential garbage service is managed through a city partnership with CARDS Waste Disposal. The city bills for this service seamlessly on your monthly water and sewer utility statement. CARDS operates five dedicated routes from Monday to Friday, running trucks from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. To ensure your household waste is picked up without a hitch, it is essential to have your poly cart rolled out early on your designated route day.
Convenient Weekly Bulk Pickups
Lamar County residents do not need to wait for a special annual cleanup event to get rid of large items. CARDS Waste Disposal offers a generous weekly bulk pickup service directly at the curb alongside your regular trash. Each household can set out up to three cubic yards of bulk materials per week at no extra charge. If your home improvement project generated more debris, simply contact CARDS to schedule a larger collection for an additional fee.
The Drop-Off Recycling Solution
While Paris does not currently provide curbside recycling bins, environmentally conscious residents can easily drop off sorted materials at the city's Bulk Brush and Recycling Center on Field Road. Ensure you bring a current City of Paris water bill and a matching photo ID. The facility accepts everything from plastics (1, 2, and 5) and metal cans to broken-down cardboard, styrofoam, and printer ink cartridges, making it an excellent resource for reducing local landfill waste.
Free Dumping Allowances for Extra Waste
If you miss your curbside bulk pickup or have items that are easier to haul yourself, the city has arranged for a designated drop-off point. Residents can safely dispose of up to four cubic yards of heavy materials for free at the Sanitation Solutions Dump Station located behind S. Church Street. Just like the recycling center, proof of residency via a water bill and an ID is strictly enforced at the gate to prevent illegal out-of-town dumping.
